Bourke has a long history of hospitality. In the old days Bourke was the hub of the west. Drovers, station owners (cockies) drifters, swaggies and other people who wanted to punctuate their journey and stock up on supplies for the long haul. Things have not changed all that much. Today when you go to Bourke you will find that it has a good range of facilities including four comfortable air conditioned motels, five hotels and three caravan parks. The RSL, the Bowling club and Port of Bourke Hotel cater for the hungry and the thirsty.
